Viachem is proud to announce our Q2 charity focus: March of Dimes. This national organization supports the health of moms and their babies, giving mothers the aid they need to start strong. They conduct research and provide support for families affected by prematurity, birth defects or other infant health problems. We’re proud to contribute to this cause, and connect specifically with March of Dimes in Dallas.
March of Dimes started as the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, created on September 23, 1937 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt after he and thousands of Americans were diagnosed with poliomyelitis (also known as polio). The name “March of Dimes” was coined by comedian Eddie Cantor, who developed the clever catchphrase to fundraise for an annual polio-awareness campaign. In 1979 the corporate name was changed to the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.
March of Dimes has been fighting for 80 years to give every baby the best possible start. March of Dimes spearheaded vaccine research leading to the eradication of polio in the U.S. and now addresses health threats to moms and babies. They guide moms through the pregnancy journey and pioneer research to give mothers and their babies the care they deserve. Their six Prematurity Research Centers (PRCs) explore premature birth and serious maternal health problems.
We are so excited to support March of Dimes and their Dallas headquarters as they continue to make huge impacts on the community. Proceeds from every order we receive this quarter will go to this organization.
