Specialty Chemicals and Ingredients Sales, Marketing and Distribution Company Debuts at Number 30 on the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship’s “Dallas 100™” — a salute to Viachem’s strength and effectiveness.
The Dallas 100™ Awards, presented by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU’s Cox School of Business, recognizes the fastest growing privately held companies in the region. Jerry White, director of the Caruth Insitute, said, “The success of these companies indicates the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in North Texas. These 100 companies refused to participate in the recession.”
“We are delighted Viachem has ranked so high in our debut appearance in the Dallas 100,” said Mike Efting, founder and CEO of Viachem. “To be recognized as being in the top third of the top 100 of all the companies eligible for this honor is very gratifying. It’s a testament to the strength of our strategic plan and the effectiveness of our business model, despite of the turmoil within the economy and the chemical/ingredient industry.”
Viachem’s business model for specialty chemicals and ingredients sales combines focused lead-generation, a customized Customer Relationship Management system that gives transparency to producers, and degreed, specially-trained technical sales professionals. This distribution model, recommended by the Boston Consulting Group in their 2010 White Paper, is designed to complement chemical producers’ direct sales efforts. The result is a cost-effective sales and distribution channel that allows specialty chemicals and ingredients producers to grow their market share profitably, without incurring high risks or adding resources.
Last year, Viachem’s business model was honored internationally by ICIS recognized for its industry innovation. The company was runner up in the ICIS Chemical Business 2010 Global Innovation Awards “Best Business Innovation” category.
