Monk fruit sweetener is derived from a plant called Siraitia grosvenorii, which is native to China and Thailand. The plant’s fruit is known as Luo Han Guo. Luo Han Guo and Mogroside V are the principal sweetening components of monk fruit. It is off-white to light yellow powder, and is non-nutritive.
